  • Customers and prospective customers who purchase documents and/or document subscriptions;  
  • Individuals who visit JLD’s website and submit information via forms, email, social media or other electronic means;
  • Third party contractors and service providers with whom to JLD interacts in the course of providing access to documents;
  • Other parties who may submit information to JLD through various channels, including but not limited to, the website, the store, social media, email, and direct communication.

The information collected may include, but is not limited to, personal identification information (such as names, addresses, email addresses, billing information and telephone numbers), information related to legal matters, information you input in documents and any other information relevant to the generation of documents or the administration of JLD’s business operations.

When you purchase a product or subscription, payment information is processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full credit card numbers.

We may retain:

  • Transaction confirmation details
  • Subscription status
  • Billing history

User Responsibility for Information

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and current.

We use the information you submit to generate documents and provide account services. We do not independently verify the accuracy of user-submitted information.

The information collected by JLD, from customers, prospective customers, and other parties who submit information through JLD’s website or in the course of purchasing or generating documents, including but not limited to personal data, contact details, and case-related information, shall be used solely for the purpose of providing the documents, communicating with customers and as required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations in Virginia. JLD may also use this information for internal purposes, such as auditing, data analysis, provision of other services as requested, offering other services and research to improve JLD’s services.

JLD may share this information with third-party contractors and service providers who assist in the operation of JLD and the provision of documents. These third parties are prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than to perform the services JLD has contracted them for.

Any other use of information will be based on the consent of the individual concerned or as required by law. JLD commits to protecting the privacy of all personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, services, or applications, even if they are accessible through our website. JLD does not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites, services, or applications. When you click on links that take you to external websites, you will be subject to the privacy policies of those external sites, not ours. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any website you visit before providing any personal information.

Furthermore, JLD may use third-party service providers to assist in providing services to our customers, including but not limited to data processing, portal access, subscription services, document review, document generation and automation, document production and legal research. These third-party service providers are required to maintain the confidentiality of any personal information they process on our behalf and are prohibited from using the information for any purpose other than to provide services to JLD or as otherwise required by law.  If there is use of your information by a third party contractor outside of what is described herein, notify JLD immediately.

Please note that service providers only have access to your personal information to perform the tasks we have assigned to them, and they are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Some third party service providers may track your online behavior over time and across different internet websites or online services.  However, we do not have control over their data collection practices or the use of your personal information.  Therefore, we encourage you to review their privacy policies before consenting to the use of their services on their website.

Payments are processed through third-party payment processors.  JustLawDocs does not store, process, or maintain your full credit card or payment information.

By submitting payment information, you authorize the applicable third-party processor to charge the designated payment method.

You agree that JustLawDocs is not responsible for:

 

  • Payment processor errors
  • Banking errors
  • Declined transactions
  • Fraudulent transactions
  • Chargeback disputes initiated through your financial institution

 

Your use of payment services is also subject to the terms and privacy policies of the payment processor.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to:

Children’s Privacy

This Website is not intended for individuals under eighteen (18) years of age.

 

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we learn that such information has been submitted, we may delete it.
